Change group
Users can apply all or certain groups or switch between groups that they are assigned to. This feature comes vey handy, as by that, users will see e.g. only specially defined views for certain tasks relevant to the assigned group. This is also a security issue as not every group should have the same access permissions to every feature of the imperia CMS.
Prerequisites#
The access rights and permissions of a group can be managed flexibly for every imperia module in different levels, e.g.:
- Different dashboards are defined for different groups with different tasks.
- The permissions of a group define the access to certain modules.
- In turn, with Controller Permissions those modules can also be restricted to certain groups.
- Also, file permissions can be set for certain groups.

Change group assignment#
As already mentioned, users can apply all or certain groups.
How to adopt new groups is described in the user documentation.
Take a user's perspective#
It may happen that you as the responsible administrator need to take the perspective (i.e. the group set) of a user, for checking a certain user behaviour, for example. The Adopt perspective option allows you to simulate a user's group set without having to select the groups individually. If you are not granted permissions for all of the assigned groups, you will accordingly receive only the subset of groups for which you have the permissions.
- Choose the Account / Adopt Perspective menu.

Check the specific user option.

Select a user from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
You will receive confirmation that the groups have been adopted.
