Maintenance

The pure system-side maintenance of imperia is limited to the creation and verification of backups and the regular monitoring of log files.

Backup

The directory tree of the develop and live systems should regularly be backed up.

Log Files

The web server's and imperia's log files in the /site/logs directory must regularly be monitored. Firstly, in order to detect possible operating problems, and secondly, in order to prevent a possible overload of the disk.

For productive operation, the log files should be alternated by a logrotate.

The log files may, for example, be moved to a new file and zipped every day. After several days this data can be moved to an archive and erased at a later stage.
